ATTENTION! PLANNED MOTORWAY
SERVICES AT ROCHE
PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT AT WOODLAND BARTON FARM
Do you know that Restormel Borough Council is currently considering an
application for planning permission to build a motorway services
facility at the above mentioned farm? This would incorporate a Fuel
Service station, HGV parking (as well as car, coach & caravan parking),
Amenity building with food and non-food facilities, a Hotel and a
Travellers’ Transit Site.
The residents in the immediate vicinity of Higher Town, Tremodrett and
Criggan are of course very concerned and have written to the Council to
object. However, we feel that this proposed development would not only
impinge on our lives but also on the Roche Village community. Many of
you enjoy to walk with children and/or dogs through the lovely rural
lanes in this area. They are also enjoyed by local runners and horse
riders.
This enormous proposed development we believe presents a safety hazard
from increased traffic flow, both during its construction and subsequent
use and would permanently alter the character of this amenity.
There are also other aspects of the development which worry us greatly
but it is up to individuals to determine their own anxieties. If you are
concerned by these issues or just by creeping industrialization and the
erosion of our green spaces, then we would urge you to write to
Restormel a.s.a.p. and object. Such objections should ideally be
with them by the end of this month and can be addressed to –
Restormel Borough Council,
Planning Dept.,
Penwinnick Road,
St. Austell, PL 25 5DR.
